A good teacher is definitely the most inspiring person in any person’s life. Teachers play a crucial role in moulding our life and destiny. It’s true, no words can actually express the importance of a teacher in our life.
While the world celebrates international Teacher’s Day on the 15th of October, India celebrates it on the 5th of September, which is also the birthday of the famous teacher, academic philosopher and the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan.
With a view to recognize and honor the gurus in various fields, Gurusamarpanam is being conducted at The Music Academy, Chennai on Teachers’ Day, 5th September 2010 at 6 pm. The guests for the evening include Dr. Mrs. Y. G. Parthasarathy (Dean & Director, PSBB Group of schools) and Mr. S. Balasubramanian (Managing Director & CEO, City Union Bank Ltd). Mr. T.S. Narayanaswamy, MD of Info Network Management Company is organizing this fifth edition of Gurusamarpanam event of Callezee.
Gurusamarpanam will be conferring ParamAcharya and Acharya Awards to 12 distinguished ‘Gurus’ and leading lights of Chennai.
This time the ParamAcharya Award goes to legends in different fields – Professor M.S.Ananth (Education), Prof.Dr.S.Kalyanaraman (Medicine), Kalaimamani S.V.Ramanan (Media), Ms. Sivasankari (author), Natyaacharya V.P.Dhananjayan (Dance), Mrs. Shanta Dhananjayan (Dance) and Padma Shri Haridwaramangalam Dr. A.K. Palanivel (Thavil).
The people who will be conferred the Acharyas awards are P.S.Raman (Legal), S.Sowmya (Music), Actress Radikaa Sarathkumar (Cinema & TV), Bombay Gnanam (Theatre), Chef K.Damodaran (Culinary) and D.Jayaram (Sports).
Gurusamarpanam will start with a unique fusion concert by ZINX from 6 pm to 6.45 pm.
