Online tutoring (e-tutors) is a learning concept which delivers online education for students above seven years. It is managed by Sayee Manohar, Managing Director and Pankaj Vekria CEO. It offers a high standard in online tutoring. With the latest technology, it is able to give a one-on-one personalized tutoring for students in the United Kingdom. The faculties are highly qualified and guide the students in physics, chemistry, maths and biology. Teaching is done through special software using an interactive whiteboard.
Sayee Manohar says, “Their education is based on the student’s ability to grasp and learn by themselves. Also only after they master a particular lesson or concept, they move on to the next. With this kind of syllabus and format it approaches the students and it has turned out to be highly satisfactory from the parent point of view also.
Report cards are sent regularly and the greatest advantage is that the parents can simultaneously see their wards attending classes and working on the concepts. The faculty is updated with the current syllabus.
With preserved specimens and charts, Dr. Prasad is able to emulate a real classroom online and gives a personal touch to his students. The tutors also guide the students with home assignments and elusive problems while preparing for exams.
Children can also involve themselves in revision courses that can be taken on monthly, weekly or hourly basis.
British students are very excited about this concept and there is a great demand for these classes which are charged £20 an hour for one to four sessions. They have packages too. Currently etutors is catering to the academic needs of Indian students of various boards (CBSE / ICSE / State Board) in terms of providing support for learning within and beyond the paradigms of the text. It has undertaken this project as an initiative to bring science closer, irrespective of the student’s level of understanding. It is aimed at teaching scientific concepts through simple experiments.
Experiments were conducted, theorems and formulas taught through paper folding method. Etutors has come up with a free monthly magazine — Education Matters — for school students. The magazine features articles on important topics of science and mathematics, which are relevant to the curriculum. It also provides a spectrum of quizzes, puzzles and games to engage the students in academic mood. The first two issues have received positive feedback from parents, librarians and teachers of leading schools.
